OUR STORY
We are a water distribution and bottling company based in the Mother City, Cape Town, in South Africa.
We care about our community, and are grateful for and passionate about our iconic mountain. ‘Local yokels’ to the core, we believe in sourcing locally, supplying locally, and benefitting the locals.
Our story started during the severe drought and resulting water shortage in the Western Cape which started in 2017 and then progressively worsened. Sinking boreholes, we were lucky to strike mineral-rich water at 15 meters, flowing from the Table Mountain Group aquifer. Eager to supply premium water to the city, we set up a production plant just over 2 km from the top of Table Mountain, and started hiring from the nearby community. You simply can’t get more local than that!
All our raw materials and production equipment is also purchased locally, and the financial gains from recycling our 100% recyclable bottles are used to benefit local community projects.
We strive to supply local restaurants and businesses, enabling a drastic reduction in the unnecessary carbon emissions caused by transporting bottled water into the city from further afield. We are driven to ensure that our recycling initiatives remain 100% circular – this means our goal is to make sure that every part of our product be in the bottle, the cap or the label is recycled and that none of our bottles ends up in landfill! We only serve the greater city area to minimise our carbon footprint as the distance from source to final consumption is small! OUR WATER
We’re all about educating our customers on the benefits of drinking mineral-rich water – we’ve added nothing at all and only filtered out some excessive iron and sodium to make the water even better for you! We love working with customers who trust us to supply a thirst quencher that supplements good health. Our mineral rich water is the only water sourced on the slopes of our beloved Table Mountain in the Mother City.
THE SOURCE
At 240-million years old, Table Mountain is thought to be one of the oldest mountains in the world. The rocks of the mountain are part of the Peninsula Formation Sandstone system, and flowing through the mountain being filtered and nourished by the mineral rock labyrinth is healthy, fresh water that is part of the Table Mountain Group (TMG) aquifer system.
Our water comes straight from this free-flowing aquifer, enriched with minerals contained in the ancient Table Mountain sandstone. The sandstone allows for the natural filtration of the water and gives our water its uniquely mineral rich fresh taste.
The abundant springs and streams of Table Mountain are the reason why Cape Town became established where it is today. As the world expanded, Cape Town grew from a small produce station supplied by flowing fresh water into today’s metropolis that we call home. And today, we can bring you this pure, mineral-rich water, straight from the mountain delivered to your doorstep or to your favourite local restaurant!
THE BENEFITS
It’s healthy! Our water is mineral rich with an excellent TDS (Total dissolved solids) composition of 280+ and our pH ranges from 7.2 to 8.5, excellent for putting back into your body what today’s busy and stressful life takes out! There are no additives and no other funnies, it’s high in calcium for strong bones, and contains magnesium and potassium for good heart health.
